Back to school will mean back problems for thousands of students.
The problem? Backpacks and bags that weigh too much or aren’t properly adjusted. Dr. Shelby Vojtech, a chiropractor with Chiromax in Twinsburg, says a student’s backpack should not weight more than 15 percent of their body weight. That means a 100 pound student should carry no more than 15 pounds in books and supplies. Watch the above video for tips to help your children loosen the load of carrying school supplies.
